Tow truck help in Dayton
Towing in Dayton, Where I-70 Crosses I-75
Two major Interstates cross just north of Dayton, in Vandalia. The junction is called the Freedom Veterans Crossroads. From there, a web of freeways fans out to the suburbs, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the airport. Here's what to tell us, road by road. Not sure which road you're on? Share your location from your phone during the call. A vetted local partner handles the job, and your price is locked by text first.
I-75
Runs north and south straight through the city, from Centerville and Kettering up to Vandalia, Tipp City and Troy. ODOT rebuilt the downtown stretch between Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and Stanley Avenue. Give the nearest exit or one of those streets.
I-70
Runs east and west through Huber Heights, Butler Township, Englewood and Brookville. It's the main road to the airport. A car that sat in airport parking in the cold may just need a jump start.
I-675
A partial ring around the southeast and east suburbs, tying I-70 to I-75. If you're stuck on it, say which suburb you're near.
US 35
A limited-access road that cuts east and west across the city. It's busiest between Drexel and Xenia. Stay in the car on the shoulder.
State Routes 4 and 444
SR 4 is a freeway, busiest between I-75 and I-70. SR 444 runs up to Fairborn and the Wright-Patterson gates, ending at I-675.
US 40
US 40 runs parallel to I-70, about 2 miles north of it. Give us the nearest cross road. If you run dry out here, ask for fuel delivery.
Dayton-area weather
Storm Season, Snow and Freezing Nights
Dayton knows what a bad storm can do to the roads. On Memorial Day 2019, 15 tornadoes touched down in the area. One of them, an EF4, tore through Brookville, Trotwood, Northridge, Riverside and parts of Dayton. Stretches of I-75 and North Dixie Drive closed, and 64,000 people lost power.
Tornadoes can form here from spring into fall, and floods happen too. Never drive into water over the road. If a warning is out, don't shelter in a stalled car. Get inside a sturdy building. Call us once it's clear. After a storm, describe any debris or downed lines near your car so the driver comes ready.
Winter is its own test. NOAA's 1991 to 2020 normals for Dayton International show about 25 inches of snow and about 110 nights at or below freezing a year. January lows average near 22. The airport sits about 10 miles north of downtown and runs a bit cooler than the river valley. If you slide off a snowy ramp and the car isn't damaged, a winch-out may be all it takes.
Check OHGO for closures and crashes before you drive.
Ohio's move-over law
Ohio requires drivers to move over and slow down for any stopped vehicle with flashing lights on the side of the road. That means lights of any color, including police, fire, road crews, utility crews and tow trucks. It applies on every road in the state, from I-75 to your side street.
Learn more on ODOT's Move Over, Slow Down page. Your driver is often working right beside traffic.

Questions
Dayton Towing Questions
I broke down near the I-70 and I-75 interchange. What do I tell you?
Say which highway you're on, which way you were headed and whether you're on a ramp. Stay in the car with hazards on. If you're blocking a live lane, call 911 first.
Can you tow me from Beavercreek or Kettering to a shop in Dayton?
Yes, if a partner can make the trip. Name the shop when you call. Your price comes by text before anyone is sent, and that's the most you pay for the job you describe.
My car is stuck near Wright-Patterson. Can a tow truck get to me?
Off base, yes, if a partner covers your spot. On base, access rules may apply, so tell us exactly where you are and we'll say right away if we can reach you.
Can you just change my flat?
Yes, if you have a usable spare and there's a safe place to work. A tire change is its own job, not a tow, and the price is locked by text first.
