Why call first
The Quickest Way to a Tow Truck Near You
When you search "tow truck near me" from the side of the road, you get a page of names. Some are across town. Some stopped answering at six. Some won't tell you a price until the truck shows up. So you end up calling down the list with a dying battery.
Calling us replaces that list. You tell us where you are and what happened. We text you a price for that job, and once you say yes, we send it to the nearest available partner tow company. When they accept, you get their driver's name, photo and truck by text.
If no partner is near you yet, we tell you on that same call, so you can try someone else right away instead of waiting on a maybe. We're adding partners city by city across the US and Canada.
What stays the same wherever you break down
- We answer 24/7. Our line is open every day of the year.
- Your price comes first. Texted before dispatch, and it's the most you pay for that job.
- You see who's coming. A driver card and a link to track your truck on a map.
- We stay with you. Check-ins by text until help arrives. That's the Stay-With-You Promise.

How to Tell Us Exactly Where You Are
"Near me" only works if the truck can find you. A clear location is the single biggest thing you can do to speed up help. Here's what to look for.
On a highway or interstate
- Your direction. Northbound, southbound, eastbound or westbound. Check the last sign you passed.
- The last exit. The exit number or the name of the road it led to.
- A marker. Small green mile markers in the US, and kilometer markers in much of Canada, sit along the shoulder.
- Which side. Right shoulder, left shoulder or median.
In town
- An address or the nearest cross streets.
- The business you're parked at, and roughly where in the lot.
- A parking garage level if you're inside one. Low clearance matters for the truck.
When you're not sure
Open the map app on your phone and look at the blue dot. Press and hold it to drop a pin, then read us the address or the coordinates it shows. If you opted in to texts, we can text you so you can reply with your pinned location.
While you wait
- Hazard lights on. Keep them on, day or night.
- Get clear of traffic if you can do it safely. A parking lot, a wide shoulder or an exit ramp beats a live lane.
- Can't get clear? If stepping out isn't safe, stay buckled in and call 911.
- Match before you hand over keys. If the driver or truck doesn't match your driver card, don't hand over your keys. Call us first.
If anyone is hurt, call 911 before anything else. We're a towing network, not an emergency service.

Roadside Help Near You, Not Just Towing
A lot of "tow truck" calls end without a tow. A dead battery, a flat or keys locked inside can often be fixed right where you are. Tell us what happened and we send the right truck for it: a jump start for a car that clicks and won't turn over, a spare tire swap, fuel delivery when the gauge hits empty, or a winch-out from a ditch or snowbank. When the car can't be driven, it's a tow to your home or your shop.

Not Seeing Your City?
Each Sentinel city page covers the roads, weather and trouble spots drivers deal with in that area, plus the towns around it. You'll find every one on the cities page.
No page for your city yet doesn't mean no help. Call 1-888-TOW-1213 anyway. If we have a partner who can reach you, we'll set it up on the spot. If we don't, we'll say so right away.
Questions
Tow Truck Near Me: Common Questions
Is there a tow truck near me open right now?
Our line answers around the clock. When you call, we check which partner near you can take the job and tell you before we dispatch. If none can reach you, we tell you that too, so you're never left waiting on a truck that isn't coming.
How much does a tow truck near me cost?
It depends on the job: how far the car needs to go, what's wrong, and what you drive. You don't have to guess. We text you a price for your job before anyone is sent, and that price is the most you pay for it. Details are on the promise page.
Does the location finder track me?
No. Your browser asks your permission first. If you allow it, the location is used on your own screen to work out the closest city page. It is not sent to Sentinel and it is not saved.
What if I don't know exactly where I am?
Call anyway. We'll walk you through it: the last exit or sign you passed, what you can see around you, and how to drop a pin in your phone's map app and read us the result.
Is the truck that comes a Sentinel truck?
No. Sentinel runs the call, your price and the updates. The truck and driver come from an independent local tow company that partners with us. You'll see who they are by text before they pull up. More on the how it works page.
