Towing in Lexington Starts With One Question: Inside New Circle?
Lexington has no freeway into downtown. I-64 and I-75 meet at the edge of the city, and neither one runs into the center. Inside, traffic moves on New Circle Road, Man o' War Boulevard and the roads that run out from the center like spokes. The University of Kentucky sits right next to downtown, and commuters pour in from the towns around. So the city gets real congestion for its size.
That's why the first thing we'll ask is where you are on that map. Inside New Circle, outside it, or out on the Interstates. It tells us which vetted local partner is closest. Your price is locked by text before anyone rolls.
Roads to know
New Circle, Man o' War and the Pikes
New Circle Road (KY 4)
The beltway around central Lexington. About three-quarters of it is limited-access, and the rest has lights and driveways. On the limited-access part, stay in the car with hazards on. Give us the nearest exit.
Man o' War Boulevard
The southern loop, with curbs and sidewalks. Its west end is at Versailles Road, beside Blue Grass Airport and across from Keeneland. It's an arterial, not a freeway, so a side street or lot may be close. Coast into one if you can.
I-64 and I-75
I-75 runs along the edge of town and I-64 along the north side. It's interstate traffic, fast and close. If you're in a live lane, call 911 first. Then call us for the tow.
Nicholasville, Harrodsburg and Leestown Roads
US 27, US 68 and US 421 run out from the center. A car that won't start in a store lot is often just a dead battery. Try a jump start first.
Newtown Pike and Tates Creek Road
Newtown Pike links the north side to I-75 and runs on into Scott County. Tates Creek Road runs from New Circle out to the rural southeast. Tell us the nearest cross road.
Past the city line
Horse Farm Roads and Wet Weather
In 1958, Lexington drew the first urban growth boundary in the country to keep horse farms from being built over. Out past that line, lots are big and homes are spread out. On a farm road at night, it can be hard to say exactly where you are. Share your location from your phone when you call. If you simply ran out of gas, fuel delivery saves you a tow.
The weather here is rarely extreme for long. It's wet, though. NOAA's 1991 to 2020 normals for Blue Grass Airport show close to 50 inches of rain and melted snow a year. Late spring and summer run a little wetter. Slow down on worn tires, since wet pavement is where they slide.
Winter is moderate, but it still freezes. The airport averages about 90 nights at or below freezing and about 15 inches of snow. A thin glaze of ice on a bridge deck or an overpass on I-75 can put a car in the ditch. If yours slid off and isn't damaged, ask about a winch-out.
Summer brings about 25 days of 90 degrees or more. That's plenty to finish off an old battery.
Kentucky's move-over law covers you
Kentucky's move-over rule covers a disabled car showing flashers, flares or reflective triangles, not only emergency vehicles. On a road with four or more lanes, drivers must move away from you when it's safe. Otherwise they must slow down.
So put your flashers on, and set out triangles if you carry them and it's safe. Read KRS 189.930 on the Kentucky General Assembly site. For road conditions, check GoKY.

Questions
Lexington Towing Questions
How do I describe where I am on New Circle Road?
Give the direction you're going and the nearest exit or cross road, like Nicholasville Road or Newtown Pike. If you can share your phone's location on the call, do that too.
My car won't start at Blue Grass Airport. Can someone jump it?
Usually, yes. Tell us which lot you're in. A partner brings a jump pack, and your price comes by text before they head out.
Can you tow me from Georgetown or Nicholasville into Lexington?
Yes, if a partner can make the trip. Name the shop when you call. The texted price is the most you pay for the job you describe.
I'm on a dark farm road and not sure where I am. What now?
Stay in the car with the hazards on. Share your location from your phone on the call, or read us the last road sign you passed. We text your family where you are if you'd like.
